The pool in the photo is at Clyde Curry's papercrete bed and breakfast
(Eve's Garden)in Marathon Texas.  The pool is papercrete painted with
waterproof sealant made for swimming pools - it has had no leakage
since it was built (six years ago I think) - this sealant can also be
used on the outside of papercrete houses to eliminate the problem of
waterlogging and wicking - I assume you can use any pigment color you
wish for color.
